This year for Ricky's family vacation we visited the Island of Kauai, and it was by far the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I so desperately wish that I had taken more photographs during our time there. The island took my breath away, moment after moment. The greenery, the clear blue waters, the gloomy perfect weather, I fell in love the moment we landed. Truthfully, the photos I have do not begin to do this place justice, but believe me you need to add this island to your bucket list.
The first day of our trip (the pictures above, also the day I had my camera out the most), we went horseback riding on this gorgeous farm. The property is called Silver Falls Ranch, you can find their website here. If you plan a trip to Kauai, make sure to book a tour with Silver Falls. It is worth every penny and minute spent there. We started our tour with the horses through the property where our guide explained the history of their ranch. Every location we rode was lush and reminded me of a rainforest. We stopped at a waterfall, where everyone was able to swim. We then headed back through the other side of the ranch, and finished with lunch back near the stables.
The middle portion of the week I barely took any photos because of all that we did. We visited Hanalei Bay, Secret Beach, and Maniniholo Beach. We also went on a UTV tour, with Kipu Ranch Adventures (another activity worth your time), and Tubing. The snaps above were from random stops along our drives. Ricky found a pig farm, (aka his heaven), which we stopped at twice because he is so ridiculously obsessed with pigs. There were also countless chickens roaming the entire island. I now understand why Moana chose HeiHei as the animal sidekick, although I still think it should have been Pua -_-
I'm sure you're wondering why baby Groot is up there, and I wish I could give you a good answer. Ricky decided to take him along on vacation, and took soooo many pictures of him in various locations. Why he was inspired to do this, I will never know. Maybe I'll do a little photo series for you to see later lol. This trip truly was the trip of a lifetime. The shaved Ice was to die for, the views killer, and the fun never ending. To top it all off, Ricky and I got engaged!!!! He planned the most beautiful and thoughtful proposal. I'll share all about that soon. For now, here is yet another perfect film Samantha created of our trip!
