Scotland

Scotland

Scotland is for every Harry Potter fan and nature lover out there. This place is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Ricky and I spent the last week of our wedimoon (wed instead of honey bc our wedding was the start of our travel) here, and boy was it a perfect end to our trip.

Here are all the things you should do if you're visiting Scotland:

  1. Start with Edinburgh! This city is a must see, and definitely should be the first stop on your list. There are tons of tours you can take (of the Harry Potter sort), so many cute shops and restaurants, and loads of beautiful architecture. It's my favorite major city ever visited!! I would also recommend staying in or near Edinburgh while you're there, traveling by train is quite pricey.
  2. Next you'll want to Head to the Highlands. We were only able to travel up through the highlands for one day due to some car rental issues, but the one day we had was incredible! We followed a road that passed Glencoe, Loch Lammond, and Fort William. I was taken back by the beauty at every turn.
  3. Glenfinnan Viaduct was one of my favorite places. We weren't able to get on the train, but the views were special either way. Book your ticket for the train far in advance if you do go. Then make sure you visit below the bridge. If you show early enough you can get a view of the steam train pass through the track. The museum nearby will tell you when the train is expected in if you call them early morning.
  4. Isle of Sky is another place we didn't get to see but you'll need to make some time to visit! The photos I've seen are breathtaking.

I've said this before, but I truly could move here and live the happiest life. This whole experience is a memory I'll never forget. I can't wait to do something like this again ;-)
